Model WD10EARS
64MB Cache
SATA II 3.0Gb/s
Variable rotation speeds, 7200-5400 RPM. See Spec Sheet (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-701229.pdf).
From Western Digital web site:
“The [W.D. Green line] features lower power consumption and lower operating temperatures for increased reliability and low acoustics; perfect for ultra-quiet Macs or PCs and external drives.”
Works perfectly. Pulled from Mac Pro which I purchased end of Feb.2012 on EhMac. It was replaced with two larger capacity drives.
Zeroed Out with Disk Utility; no bad sectors were reported.
If you wish, with the help of this cool gadget (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/U3NVSPATA/), I can connect the bare drive to a laptop so you can try before you buy.
$59. Prefer local face-to-face transaction.
Thank you.
