: Awesome Things
MLeh Apr 19th, 2012, 07:14 PM Came across this story today on CBC aboutA blogger who has made a list of 1000 'awesome' things. (http://www.cbc.ca/news/yourcommunity/2012/04/what-would-top-your-list-of-awesome-things.html)
The blog itself is here (http://1000awesomethings.com/). And the 1000 list here (http://1000awesomethings.com/the-top-1000/) Some great stuff, and good writing.
So, I figured the fine folk at ehMac could come up with some of their own 'awesome' things.
How about it? What awesome thing has happened to you today?
winwintoo Apr 19th, 2012, 08:05 PM Finally locating that favorite baby picture of my granddaughter. Awesome!
Hannah is graduating from high school and needed a baby picture for the class memory wall. It took some digging, but I finally found it. I also found that old picture of me wearing cat's eye glasses. Bonus!
G-Mo Apr 19th, 2012, 08:26 PM Didn't this blog just finally end today? It's been running about 4 years and has spawned two books (which have sold quite well) as well as a series of TV ads for Maxwell House.
MLeh Apr 19th, 2012, 09:03 PM Yup, the blog finished counting down today, but that doesn't mean we can't start our own list of Awesome Things.
SINC Apr 19th, 2012, 09:56 PM In case no one else has noticed, ehMac is awesome. ;)

G-Mo Apr 20th, 2012, 08:59 AM The word 'awsome' has been overused to the point that its meaninglessness is awsome...... :D
mguertin Apr 20th, 2012, 09:09 AM The home depot truck arrived bright and early this morning fully loaded with drywall, 2x4, insulation, pre-hung doors, and all the trim to go with it -- enough to complete a full basement reno! Unfortunately it was an hour before I usually have to get up. Even more unfortunately, the order wasn't for me, someone filled out the wrong address for the shipment. I spent 30 minutes helping the poor delivery guy track down where the shipment was actually supposed to be going as his cell phone was dead (he dropped it while standing right in front of me and it broke into pieces!) As I suspected it was for someone who's house address number is exactly 100 higher than mine (I knew I heard saws and the like running up that direction yesterday). It was a chore as the person who placed the order gave the phone number of their main office (big contracting company) and there was no names at all on the order sheet.
Welcome to friday!

mg- The word "awesome". I don't think it means what you think it means.

Learning something new every day. Awesome!
ehMax Apr 20th, 2012, 10:15 AM Glanced at that list in the OP, and one of the first things I noticed was "Flossing". That list is dead to me. Flossing should be on the "1000 sucky things" :)
I was actually thinking about things kind of like this topic last night.
Listening to a really good album, really loud, on a good sound system. (With photos of your life displaying through Apple TV) It was awesome. :)
MLeh Apr 20th, 2012, 10:16 AM My daughter told me about '4/20' years ago and my first response was 'Hitler's birthday? How odd ...'
I once had a boss who would take us out for lunch each year for 'Secretary's Day' but he would refuse to call it 'Taking you out for Secretary's Day' and instead referred to it as 'Hitler's Birthday'. He was a strange boss. But I learnt when Hitler's Birthday was! Awesome!
Sonal Apr 20th, 2012, 10:26 AM Thanks to a hot investment real estate market, people want to give me truly ridiculous amounts of money to acquire my property. Like, utterly insane. I don't know what's wrong with these people, it's pretty awesome.
