Hi ~

I downloaded a file from iTunes for an iphone or iPad that I want to open on my Mac. The app isn't available in the Mac App's store. Can I still run it, and if so how do I do that?

Thanks.

You say you downloaded a "file". Do you mean an app, or a media file (movie, TV show, song)?

If you mean app, then no. You can't open iOS apps on your Mac.

Thanks for your reply. It is an "app".

iOS apps only work on iOS. If you have the developer tools I think there's a simulator/emulator though?

Thanks. I thought I saw something in my travels that enabled you to run them on your Mac, but maybe I was mistaken.
