: Problem submitting reports to Apple

For the past three years when Safari has suddenly quit our iMac has automatically opened a window asking if we want to submit a report to Apple. We have always done this as the feedback should let Apple know what users are experiencing and the frequency of problems.

In the past few weeks these submissions have all failed. On clicking to send the report another window opens advising "Submission Failed. Your report could not be submitted. Please try again later." The only way to get rid of it is to click "OK." This is asinine as it is most definitely not OK! It makes one wonder about the logic and motivation of those who wrote this stupid situation.

It happens not only with Safari. I have just had Skype freeze and after using Force Quit was offered the report window. This report also failed to go through.

Is Apple no longer interested in knowing what problems Mac users are facing? So far we have not received any update or advice from Apple regarding the Trojan Horse situation.

Have other readers experienced this? What is going on? Is it Apple refusing to accept the reports or is the problem on our iMac?

Do others think that Apple's support might be deteriorating? Unfavourable media comments point out how slow Apple has been to respond to the Trojan situation, which it has apparently still only done for those with the very latest version of OSX. What about the rest of us?

No problem at my end. Had Safari suddenly quit on my iMac a while back - was asked to send a report, which I did - was advised of an update before the day ended. I was impressed!!
Note: I am still running Snow Leopard, and have always installed updates when advised they are available, or if I find them before, via advice here on the Forum.

What OS are you using? I've had that happen on my older machines running Tiger and Leopard. Both PPC machines.

I am using 10.5.8 on the 2008 iMac. This is an Intel machine

I have 10.4.11 on the iBook G4, which is a PPC

I would like to know why the reports do not go through. Has Apple cut us off?

It appears so. You know considering any machines that can run Tiger or also Leopard as the max OS are at least 5-6 years old. And Apple hasn't released any software for these machines in some time... I mean I'd not be surprised if they don't want to hear about any "obsolete or vintage" machines.

Unfortunately time marches on in Appleland just like anywhere else. If not faster...
