Have we become such a nanny state that people need to be reminded of this?

I don't support the protest, simply because the general population isn't ready for it. Maybe in a few years, if they get rid of the currently required ATTs and appearance-based classifications.

In a strange public alert Thursday, the Halton Regional Police reminded citizens that “it is not illegal to wear a holster” even if “people may be concerned with the sight of them in the community.”

The statement was in response to news that members of a fringe lobby group, Operation Sheepdog, would be appearing in public on April 17 wearing empty pistol holsters to lobby for a loosening of Canada’s little-known laws concerning concealed handguns.

I realize how it sounds, but people are already freaking out about the long gun registry being abolished, and the NDP are promising to reinstate it if elected into power.

How do you think they would react if it became easier to get a handgun, let alone an ATC permit? It's political suicide right now.

legal or not.. guns are on the street.. I rather see them in the holster than wonder if they have them. - So that said.. it is what it is.. registry or not.. [ registry is unless any way] because I am not worried about the ones that are legal rather illegal...

Holsters are just so ugly! They need to make them for the fashion friendly for the Canadian Public!
