I installed the latest OS (Lion) and lost my ability to view PDF's from the web using Firefox. I've downloaded and installed the Firefox PDF add on and the Adobe Reader for Firefox but still can't view PDF's. Before I updated I had a pdf reader which worked great, so I know there is something out there.
Any suggestions?
Thx

Switch to Safari.
By this I mean "I don't know how to fix the problem on FF so here's a suggestion I know works." :)

I keep getting an update message from Adobe for the pdf plugin update in Safari,
But, I've been dismissing it because I really don't see a problem with the current /old version.
Never really used Firefox for pdf's

Why??? Or are you an expert programmer and know of all the implications etc.
Most such updates are provided to you for: various improvements, and very often for your own and security improvements to protect you and your Mac.
Use the update check option and click and read the 'Details' option for more info if you want, but just dismissing such notices is akin to keeping your head in the sand or under a pillow and maybe in the dark, just 'cause you "really don't see a problem with the current /old version."
Such logic just blows my mind... unless you really know better!!

I would do the update.. but rather be wary of any adobe flash pop ups instead requesting updates..

Back to the original question - there is a plugin that works in Firefox - it's free for home and non-profit use:
PDF Browser Plugin for Mac - Download.com (http://download.cnet.com/PDF-Browser-Plugin/3000-2378_4-31480.html)
You will see a message about registering it the first time you use it, which I wasn't expecting, having not noticed the bit about it being a paid plugin, but it doesn't reappear.
