simple graphics editing software?

Hello,

I would like to find a simple alternative to photoshop for creating band flyers. I don't need anything fancy, maybe some basic cropping of pictures and fonts. I already have pages but I don't think it's really what I need to create a nice poster.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Pages in layout mode is great for posters.

Pixelmator is an excellent image editor and it's much cheaper than Photoshop.

Don't laugh, but Keynote is actually great for stuff like that. I use it all the time. Not only does it do the job well, it makes it easy to do things like align and centring your images. Add Preview for a few crops and size adjustments here and there and you have a powerful set of tools at your disposal.

Another +1 for Pixelmator - a great, cheaper Photoshop alternative that's improving constantly.

Pages is also a great layout and basic image editor option... ALPHA is probably the best damn feature ever added to the iWork suite.

Note that with Keynote, unlike Pages, you can make high-resolution posters and output to PDF or TIFF. It's far more powerful than most people realize...

How to change slide resolutions from the default sizes
