I tried a Google search for
Appletree Solutions

The first three that come up are not the same, they are variants of that name. The fourth, which is an exact match, is a link to the original post that started this thread.

So Appletree Solutions is indeed very obscure. But now they will have two listings in Google!

Can't say their domain registration gives me a lot of confidence.

Whois Lookup - Domain Names Search, Registration, & Availability | Whois.net

The only thing that's real in all of that (I assume) is the email contact.

At any rate - they're new. The domain was registered on January 17, 2011 and updated on March 17.

And then I had a look at their software page. Seems they're pirating it and selling it for ludicrously low prices. Methinks I'll be sending a few emails to Apple, Adobe etc. <_<

I'd suggest you give them a very wide berth - they are certainly NOT legit on the software end, and I wouldn't trust 'em with my hardware! (not Apple authorized anyway)

It is clear from the software page that this person or outfit is selling pirated software, so it is entirely up to you whether you want to deal with them:

"We carry a complete selection of software for your Mac. All software has been tested and verified to work, please consult your own Mac specs to see if individual software runs on your particular computer.

All software contains working serial numbers and/or patches & cracks that allow software to work functionally.

Each software package is tested for viruses, trojans and other spyware and it’s then tested after each duplicated disc to ensure it’s fully working.

Satisfaction is guaranteed as well... we’ll help out with any technical issue or problem after you receive your software. We strive to make sure you’re satisfied and everything runs smoothly for you.

If there’s any Mac software not listed, please contact us for a quote.

Please note: All software is for educational and test purposes only. We are not liable for any software issues once you take possession of it and use it. If you like the particular software you are testing out and using, please consider supporting the manufacturer and developer of it."

Yeah...well I doubt that will get them too far with the lawyers. They have been reported.

(I actually hadn't read that paragraph about the "cracks" until now - I got caught up in the software pages themselves...sheesh, not TOO obvious about it, are we?)

wow, final cut for $100 - and aperture for $30... better run before suppliers are out
seriously.. that is silly, wonder how long they will last?

called up the Canadian reps for filemaker and moneyworks..
at first they laughed - then said thank you, we will educate.

Why would this thread be locked? As far as I can see, each post has been critical of this business and the way that it operates.

I don't see anything here that is in support of this business. Why not allow the thread to continue to let other unsuspecting users know that this software does not appear to be legitimate.

Not everyone, especially those users who have recently made the switch from the Windows world, understands that legitimate Mac software doesn't see deep discount prices like the ones being advertised. They should be warned not to buy software this way.
