Had this msg on my screen when woke up my computer this morning { This computer's local hostname Macintosh- local is already in use on his network . the name has beeb changed to Macintosh- local . } this is the first time i have seen this on my computer.
Are you on an unsecured WiFi network? Do you have other people in your household with Macs? It appears that somebody else has a computer/device with the same name as yours. You could change your computer name under System Preferences -> Sharing and I would recommend using security on your WiFi connection.

Good idea would be to name their's "kids imac" and yours to "my imac" and all will be well..
make easier if you want to enable file sharing or something
