Are you on an unsecured WiFi network? Do you have other people in your household with Macs? It appears that somebody else has a computer/device with the same name as yours. You could change your computer name under System Preferences -> Sharing and I would recommend using security on your WiFi connection.

Just give at least one of them a unique name and your issue will be solved!

Send a message via ICQ to pcronin
Good idea would be to name their's "kids imac" and yours to "my imac" and all will be well..
make easier if you want to enable file sharing or something

You know you can easily change the name by going into System Preferences --> Sharing --> Edit on the top right.
