Will a Dell touchscreen display work on a Mac?

If I was to plug in a Dell ST2220T touchscreen display into my MacBook Pro, will there be any touchscreen support? I see according to the spec sheet there's mouse support, but what about multitouch? Is there a standard USB protocol spec for this sort of thing?

Yeah, the only reason why I'm mildly interested is because it's affordable and it's an IPS display to boot.

The screen would work but I would not expect any touch capabilities.

I suspect the touch functions would work just fine, as many touch screens just send the information to the computer the same way a mouse would, so it should behave similarly. Unless this one is pressure-sensitive, it should work fine.

While I agree, I would imagine there's a separate protocol for multitouch.

It's simple to implement single touch, but it's much more difficult to implement multitouch. Unless the system advertises multi-touch, then I would assume it can't do it. Plus, Mac drivers for multi-touch would likely not come with the display.
