i downloaded it and installed it, but don't see any obvious changes and the download website doesn't mention anything about changes

who's gonna' go first?

I just upgraded to 1.4.8 recently (might do 1.4.9 later today), and noticed the "Speed of display of the Web pages" option:



Seems to make a difference. But how does it work?

TheDoug - It turns off a momentary pause between the display of pages and when the information is downloaded. IIRC the pause was put in place so as the change between one page and another was not so jerky.

It really does make a difference to the speed.
