Just received my new iMac Core i7 yesterday, and I was unable to have it detect either the mouse or the keyboard at boot. So I had to hook on a wired mouse and keyboard to finish the first boot sequence.
Then I looked at the system preferences and system profiler, to realize that there is no bluetooth in the iMac (none detected at least).
Will need to call Apple Care to get help on this. Just hope they won't ask me to bring it to a repair center, as I live in a region where they are not very nearby!!

Your thread title is misleading. All the new iMacs have built in Bluetooth maybe yours isn't working but the i7 iMacs most certainly do come with built-in Bluetooth.

So your unit never detected the mouse keyboard combo? Mine picked it up the keyboard right away, albeit it took a little while to get the mouse connected.
They most certainly do. I will mention that bluetooth isn't 100% and sometimes fails to detect devices. I'd start with making sure that yours is actually turned on in the System Preferences.

I think people can read just fine... his title is misleading... as was already mentioned.

New iMac Core i7 does not have bluetooth!
Reads like a general statement regarding the New iMac Core i7. If you had said, My New iMac Core i7 does not have bluetooth, that would be more accurate and not misleading.
Also it is highly unlikely that yours doesn't either, just that it is not working... two completely different things.
Really it isn't that big a deal except when I first read the thread title I headed straight to the Apple site to confirm that they do come standard (I was sure they did) with built in Bluetooth. Just sayin the way you put it in the title makes it seem like a bigger problem than it is is all...

If you go to the System Profiler, and click on the Bluetooth tab, what does it say? Have you done a SL Reinstall? Some of the new iMacs are shipping with a corrupt SL install. Also, try updating to 10.6.2.

(clapping for the edited thread title, not for the Bluetooth problem... which is a pain in the a** )
Clears up any chance of confusion, meall.
