Dave
No an eMac is a PITA to carry back to the dealer, I did it 4 times. Compared to that a 27" iMac is super portable.

back to the OP... if the prob is just that the computer seems slow, run maintenance/onyx and then disk warrior. odds are that you'll be back to your original performance and even if you're not, disk warrior is still a super app to have in the tool kit!

I'll add in another vote for the imac over the mini. The mini's are cheaper if you are on a strict budget, the iMac is a MUCH better computing experience performance wise.

Carrying an iMac in the original box is easy.

I like the Mini

I can live with a little less performance.

I like the separation of church and state and I like the separation of computer and monitor. I tend to keep my machines a long time. Even after they have been replaced with a newer one, they get "single functioned" and used for something. Not being able to jettison a bad sub-assembly bugs me - I think it goes right back to my original Mac and Mac SE days.

New iMacs

When does Jobs usually release the new iMacs? Thinking of waiting until the next release.

Also, is touch screen on the horizon??

Thanks

Wierd, are there many issues with the iMac's that people are bringing them back?

More likely they have just bought them and are taking them home

You can do some neat mounting with the Mac Mini as well with the H-Squared Mini Shelf. Going to be using them as point-of-sale computers and mount underneath the counter.

For a lot of receptionist, Dr's Offices and even some people's home desk, 21.5 " computer / display is starting to get a little big. Have to stand up or go on your tippy-toes to see the people behind the computer.

Dual matt screen setup is pretty cool. And let's face it... a lot of people mostly use their computer for Internet (ehMac), email, word processing, some photos in iPhoto and to listen to music. At that point the performance between iMac and Mac mini isn't really that important.
