Help me please, I need to do a basic animation

for tomorrow and I have no idea what to use. What I need is a basic stick figure
with a thought bubble beside him where I can put a few sentences.
Very basic stuff, but I've been googling like crazy and there are hundreds of animation programs out there, I would prefer the mac side but I can work with Windows through Bootcamp.

So what would you guys suggest for a basic animation project?

Thanks in advance guys,

For this one, I'd recommend you go old school.

Do you have an erasable white board, a digital still camera (or webcam), and iMovie?

Take a still of each drawing of your animation on the erasable whiteboard, erase and draw to your heart's content, and then import the images into iMovie.

Then, in iMovie, set still duration of each image for as long as you want it to stay unchanged onscreen.

You can re-use images to your heart's content.

Send a message via AIM to chas_m
Try this: GifBuilder. Very simple frame by frame stuff.

I use GIMP for making simple animation. It's free. Some people refer to it as the poor man's Photoshop. I'm poor so.....

may not be the answer to all problems, but BLENDER. Its free and spits out a wide number of formats, but not gif.

smellybook, I'm curious as to whether you were able to do your animation, and if yes, how?

Adobe Imageready (comes with Creative Suite) does animated GIFs quite readily
