AppleCare, Snow Leopard question

I am considering buying an iMac today. I can't make it to an Apple store today, but I can make it to Best Buy. I just wanted to see if I was able to buy AppleCare at a later time, even though the iMac wasn't purchased at an Apple store? I was also wondering if it comes with Snow Leopard in the box? Sorry if these questions sound a little stupid, but that's why I came here to ask the Mac experts! Thanks for your help!

You have essentially 364 days from original purchase to get the full Applecare.

Applecare can be purchased anywhere as long as you are within the first year of support. Applecare is good for 3 years from purchase, so buying on the last day of your 1 year warranty will add 2 more years.

When you buy from Apple or an authorized dealer SL will be in the box. As for Best Buy... I would assume Apple would have sent them SL to add to existing stock.

I suggest buying AppleCare within the first 90 days, even though you have 364 days from purchase date.

1. Telephone support is limited to 90 days under the default warranty; buying and registering AppleCare gives you all three years of unlimited telephone support.

2. It's done, and you don't come back in 364.5 days and say "waaaah, I forgot, missed it by THAT much!"

Thanks for the help. I don't plan on waiting until last minute to buy AppleCare. Certainly will get it within the first 3 months.
