Do any ehMac'ers use or have knowledge of Mac project management softwares currently on the market? I have a client who is in need of such software but I have been "out of the loop" since MacProject was dropped by Microsoft...

Any practical advice appreciated.

Question

Not sure if it helps but I use MS Office's Entourage to keep track of my projects.

Yeah! I too have made myself get into Office X 2004's project management capabilities; "made myself", as in it was a change from managing stuff between Entourage and the Finder. I'm liking the decision. it already handle all of your pre-0-existing email, contacts schedule notes, and to-do data, allowing you to get a specific view. PLUS, it monitors folders on your drive in realtime, allowing you to launch the files from within Entourage -- even if the file uses an application other than an Office one.

I don't know what your needs are in particular, but Entourage works for me

I came across ProjectForum a while ago when looking at group project management software. Didn't end up using it (for other reasons), but looked interesting.

Re: Entourage

Our office just picked up MS Office:Mac 2004 and noticed the screen captures on the package with Proj./Mgt. featured as one of the uses.

I'd like to hear from those who have used it. Thoughts? Pros/Cons? How would it fare against a busy studio?

Thanks in advance.

Question

MannyP;

Individually I think it would work out pretty good for you, but I'm not sure how it would fare in a multi-user environment. I work in a busy java development shop with many projects on the go - but we use Lotus Notes and Domino servers to collaborate calendars schedules docs etc. Previous companies I have worked for did the same thing with Outlook and Exchange servers.

Personally, at home, I use Entourage to manage about half a dozen projects that I am involved in at work. I use it to organize all of the requirements and design specs plus all of the email threads and task lists that go with each project - keeps me somewhat sane

I would think that it would help your people to manage their individual project loads, but I'm not sure about a common server to collaborate. Is there such an animal for Mac?
