I need ram for my new G5 (dual 1.8).

I know that the ram have the be filled in pairs and use good brands (Kingston for me) but do I have to buy the 'dual kit' which are 2x512 or can I simply buy 2 dims of 512 separatly and it will work fine?

I ask thins because I see a HUGE price difference between the two 350$ for kits and 2x130$=260$ for the cheap options.

Cant wait to get my baby but the amount of ram that comes with it (256) is a real joke...

I bought a 2Gb "kit" (2 x 1 Gb) for my dual 1.8 GHz G5 (from CanadaRam). As long as the two sticks are completely matched in specifications, you should be fine (i.e. match the latencies as well as the capacity and type). Buying two at the same time from a reputable seller should provide a matched pair. There's only four slots in the new duallie G5 so get as big sticks as you can afford. These machines work faster with more RAM.
