Is anyone here playing (or planning on playing) World of Warcraft. I figure that since it's available for the Mac, there might be a few people here that are thinking of checking it out.

You didn't answer my question. Don't give me any crap about me missing the point, either.

I installed the stress-test beta last night. Only got to play for 5 minutes but I've got a Paladin on Test 3 and an Orc Warrior on Test 13.

I read it was $14.99 US a month to play + the initial $49 US for the game.

I think I'll pass.

The Open Beta should be started in a couple days. I will try to sign up with that so I can at least try it before it goes final. The game does look pretty cool. I just hope it will run at a decent speed on my computer.

I have been playing the beta since the beta started, which has been quite a unique experience. It's amazing how much a game changes over time. Regardless, it plays very well on a Powerbook 1.25Ghz, and you will be very satisfied with Blizzards focus on Mac quality of this game. All patches came out the same time for PC or Mac during the testing.

$14.99 US a month to play

Unless they're going to offer discounts for paying up multiple months in advance.

Both City of Heroes and Star Wars Galaxies do this.

• A month-to-month subscription plan costs $14.99 per month
• a three-month plan costs $13.99 per month;
• a six-month plan costs $12.99 per month
