I won't consider an upgrade until apple offers matte on the 15s. Glossy is a total no go for me. Hate them.

Sinc, I am glad things are looking up for you. It is to bad that you were having a frustrating time with it. Never fun to have a new computer (or anything else) not do the things that it is suppose to do.

This MBP is growing on me as I continue to use it, now a week old. As mentioned the gloss is not an issue. The matte film eliminates the issue entirely. Can't tell it from my old one now.

Observation: This thing runs so cool compared to the previous version it is not even funny. The old one used to get so hot you could hardly touch it. This one never even gets lukewarm. The difference is amazing and a welcome change when I do use it on my lap. I've only heard the fans run once and then not for very long. If I did the same work with the old 2.2 Ghz, it would be whining at 6,000 RPM. This one barely got to 3,500 RPM before they turned off. Both MBPs idle the fan speed at 2,000 RPM.

Where did you find it?

I have been using my balcony (facing West/23rd floor) for the first time since fall (before I received my MBP) and have found the screen to be absolutely USELESS past 2pm until sunset.

I have actually started to look for a trade for a similarly/slightly better classic MBP on craigslist.

I bought it at the Apple Store in West Edmonton Mall. Pricy at $34.95, but worth every dime.

When installing, make very sure your gloss screen is totally clean and free of dust.

But of course.

when I took the laptop outside all I saw was a coating of dust...wiped it down with cotton...now some sort of grease marks....97% Isp. Alc. and most of them are gone.

Anyone have some recommendations for what to get the stubborn ones off?

You're using Isopropyl Alcohol to clean your screen?

for years I have been reading about how a 50/50 solution of Isopropyl Alcohol is superior to iKlear in every way.

BTW Sync - was it the iVisor by Moshi you purchased?

Apple also says not to use iKlear on glossy displays and no one follows that rule either.
