Nuts! Ah well tis the life of a Canadian eh!

Although I do have some family in the states.. I always thought about having it shipped to them, but then I imagine I would need a US credit card, etc, etc plus taxes bringing it back. They just love to make our life hard

You don't need a US credit card.

I have bought a few things like that and I get them shipped to the states and bring them back over the border. Most of the time the border guy just lets us through.

But we live by the border so it's easier.

No US credit card eh?! Hmmm this certainly opens up alot more options with our Canadian Dollar so strong right now (w00t!)

Looks like ill have to start seriously considering a PowerMac..

That's correct. Just need it to be shipped to a US address. Any credit card will do.

Nope... Pam's right.

I have ordered from the US apple store with my CDN visa and shipped to a US address. They don't match, not a problem.

And cummon... They are going to take your car over a couple of hundred dollars? I don't think so.

Much like people here have claimed there is no way to receive merchandise mail without paying taxes or duty, I only get charged once every 15 packages or so.

Also, I don't think Pam meant 'smuggle'. She probably meant (again like me) that crossing the boarder is usually hassle free, even when bringing goods back and declaring them.

And if you didn't know: You can add a US address as a 'shipping' or 'gift' address to your visa. So companies that need to see a 'match' will. Easy as a phone call. That might even work for the ITMS. (Dunno, I have a US visa for that).

That being said; London Drugs has the best prices on previous models I have ever seen!
