Heard this on the radio this morning

On a tech talk show, that someone who took a new Ipod touch appart and discovered it has Blue tooth and an FM radio capability built in. Is this old news to anyone or not? Seems Apple will put out Firmware updates to activate these 2 features in the futur...

The chip is there because it's probably cheaper to use an existing chip for its other functionality than to buy a custom chip without Bluetooth and FM Radio. It doesn't mean Apple will add that functionality.

So this means iPhone's have the same capability?

If I could get some free radio on my iPhone that would top it off! Some CBC radio one in the evening is always good.

I am with the other guy...I want FM radio for CBC radio! Arghh...I can't get into PodCasts for some reason. Hammering through to get them just isn't intuitive and just like News it seems human nature to prefer a "Now" or "Live" feeling - that your getting the news source in the immediate.

Do Rev. 1 iPod's Touch -es have this built in. Come SJ - don't be chicken...just add the capability if it is software dammit!

Cheers,

David

Didn't they speculate one of them might be used for the Nike+ system?

Isn't the Apple radio gadget still compatible with all iPods? Actually just checked: works with everything except 'touch and 'phone
