LCD advice

Hey all.
I'm looking at getting a new monitor but don't have a lot of $ at present.
Any recommendations on a decent 19-20-21 monitor?
Which brands are good. Some colour graphics/photo retouching and mostly B&W illustration work.
Thanks in advance,
Robert

It would help to have an idea of how much you're willing to spend.

You should be able to get a decent Dell monitor (20" or 22") for about 300$.

I just bought a Acer X193W (19" widescreen) Future Slop $149, if out, WallyMart sells the same one, and will do a price match. Not wonderful, but ok, at least $149 worth.

Also, keep an eye out for Dell's 10 Days Of Deals, which comes around fairly frequently.

If you check my link, and can afford $229.00, that "E207WFP 20-inch" is a pretty darn good purchase. (check the user reviews) Plus, the Dell 3 year warranty is nothing to sneeze at.

It's important to try and buy a monitor that can achieve a 1680x1050, or, 1600x1200 resolution. If you have to settle for less, then wait, and save up till you can. Generally speaking, buy at least a 20" LCD. You'll be glad you did.

LG 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor (L206WTQ-BF) - $199.95 at Future Shop - a few of my clients have 'em - great bang for the buck PLUS a 3 year warranty!

You nailed it.

The Dell 27" widescreen is on sale today. Regular $999.99, today $599.99. Free shipping.

Days of Dell Deals

Seems like a good deal, and these rarely have problems, but I don't know how difficult an exchange would be.

Check out ehmac sponsor redflagdeals.com for a discussion of the monitor's merits:
