Are you sure it isn't caked on dirt? I recently had a customer who was adamant their MBP also had a scratch on the LCD, until I cleaned it off with iKlear.

Failing that, I'm not sure if scratches can be buffed out of LCD panels.

I was amused by the phrasing of the OPs issue -- "I just got a MacBook Pro and now there's a scratch on it." As if it grew there organically.

(puts on "cranky old man" whiskers) Back in MY day, we'd have said something like "I just got a MacBook Pro and somehow *I* put a scratch on it." (/crank)

No diss intended to the OP, just a phrasing that amused me. Move along, nothing to see here.

I once read that Vaseline works, I have never tried it.

I don't understand how it could, just read it somewhere once.

Could be worth a try,

I am not recommending you do this;

People used to repair scratches in their plastic motorcycle windshields by rubbing toothpaste over the scratch.

Maybe people still do.
