I will be receiving my 12" iBook on Wednesday (yay) and I am interested in finding a suitable backpack for carrying it to and from campus.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a proper 12" iBook backpack? I have looked at ones from Belkin. RadTech and Brenthaven but would like to hear of some first hand experience before I decide if I want to buy one or not.

Also if you could tell me where you bought it that would be helpful.

I can't say enough about InCase bags.

The quality is just fantasic, their sling bag would probably be perfect, or their slim backpack..

Have a look at the Crumpler Sheep Scarer:

There are a few more colours on my web site. It's my favourite... and I'm not just saying that cause I sell them. Seriously! I first found out about Crumpler bags on this O'Grady's PowerPage Review

When I got them, I was so impressed with their design, materials, stitching, size 10 zips, and lifetime warranty that I all but dumped my computer business and went into full time bag selling from my parents' basement.

I'm really cool about returns so if you want to order one just to try, you can have that warm fuzzy secure sort of feeling knowing you can send it back and get a full refund.

There are also a couple traditional stores in Canada that carry Crumpler, which you can find at crumpler.ca ... I'm not sure how much stock & which models they have, so you might want to call first if you go this route.

I just put mine in an ordinary MEC backpack because I don't want everyone to know that I am carrying a laptop. I don't use any sleeve at all, and the ibook can take it

I use a Targus backpac. It was bought many years ago and is in excelent condition. They dont have the same kind (style) I have, they look a little fancier. Mine is made out of a thick cloth material and the inside is a padded foam surounding. If I was to buy another bag I would certianly without a doubt buy another Targus. The way this backpack is, I doubt that will be for a long time. The other good thing is that is does not look like a notebook backpac

I use a Brenthaven backpack for my 12" PowerBook. I've owned a lot of bags for different things and this is the most well built. Reminds me of a mag-lite or my Pentax K1000.

I used the Kensington Saddlebag with my Lombard and
found that all the extra room and compartments were very
helpful when travelling.

Also there are three different ways of carrying it,
It's a very versatile little bag that doesn't look like a laptop bag.

What about for students?
I want a bag that's big enough for the laptop and all my books, etc...
