I love this program. It has saved me so much time and aggro, I can hardly thank them enough for this gem.
But here's what I'm wondering? I'm not a hacking expert and I don't follow such things, but I do wonder if this program is rock solid? For example, I have all my banking and financial info saved in the program. Should I worry?
To be specific, I love that they have added a "sync with .mac account" feature, but it kind of terrifies me to think that someone at Apple could scour those servers for such files, and start cracking into my online banking and stuff
As long as you are storing YOUR info on someone else's server there is some risk. You are surrendering control. It is a matter of where you want to place your trust. I would NEVER do this but YMMV.

HOWEVER: occassionally I have in the past provided links to instructions or illustrations. I will not do so in future, in fact I will not be offering helpful advice for free just to have my words pirated until the sleazy ad linking desists. I will, however, answer PMs.
Even better that, temporarily, 1Password is a free iPhone app available through the app store. If they were going to scam thousands of people, the combination of the regular app, the iPhone app and Apple server access and all your passwords, would be deadly.
As for syncing with .me, don't you already provide a lot of information to Apple? Credit card information, signatures when you purchase in person, even the security code from the credit card when you purchase online: are you feeling safer now?

1 Password has everything in one place, whereas what I hand out on an individual basis is all calibrated carefully (low limits cards, deposit cc, etc).
I gather, then, that you don't sync your 1password at all?
Well, I have finally installed 1Password (I got free from MacHeist's "Mac Giving Tree") and I have to say I love this software (Canadian too, eh?). I had my reservations about inputting user names and passcodes, but through all of my research I could not find a single instance of compromise, theft or fraud associated with this program. The web would be unforgiving in outing an unscrupulous company and as I said, this software is totally above board. I'd say yes, you can trust 1Password.
For me Passwords are stored locally on an encrypted disk image ditto anything that I consider private.
Personally I much prefer actually visiting the local credit union to banking online and for that reason alone would never bank online.

Do NOT Touch this computer!!! Touching this computer WILL cause irreversible brain damage.

It's not like it's there in a single plain text file. What encryption do they use? If they use good encryption, it's not going to matter unless they think you have government secrets in there or you are rich and famous. It's not worth employing farms of high end computers to crack your password file if all they are going to get is some guys credit card numbers and account passwords - it's just not worth the effort.

This is about as likely to happen as Bush admitting he was wrong about Iraq. I rate this "risk" right up there with winning the lottery while being hit by lightning. Mathematically possible, sure ... likely, not so much.
