Can I Get Mac OS X 10.4 for under $100?

Hey I have an Ibook and I am sick and tired of the disadvantages of Mac 10.3
I can not get Parallels Desktop, I do not have the dashboard, and I can not use my ipod with my version of Mac OS X. Does anyone know where and how I can upgrade my Mac for under $100?
PLEASE RESPOND

You're not going to be able to use Parallels or Bootcamp on an iBook in any case.

Not sure why you would want to use Dashboard.

BTW You can index your HD in Panther. Since it is not live you get most of the benefits of Spotlight without the performance hit. Older iPods work fine under Panther but I believe the latest ones do require Tiger.

As CanadaRAM noted, you need an Intel Mac of some kind to run Parallels, VMWare, Crossover -- any of that stuff.

Contrary to what grumpypuss eMacMan says, Dashboard is fine.

A copy of Tiger should be cheaply obtainable via Craigslist, your local Mac User Group, Ebay, or you can check with online "used-Mac" type dealers. You should be able to find a copy for well under $100.

Good luck. They seem to be about $100.00. I just went through trying to find a copy and that was the going rate. Lucky for me a friend was cleaning up and found his old one so he gave it to me I was so happy.

Guess I am in the same boat as powermad 80. I need to use Viewpoint to see Nova Scotia vital statistics at the NSARM site and it only works with 10.4 according to the Viewpoint site. Upgrading all the way to Leopard wouldn't help so there is the bind. I will follow the suggestions on this forum and see what I can come up with. Thanks. Looking for answers was how I came upon this site.
