Question

I am looking for a good, part time course on web site building in the Calgary area.
There is one at SAIT "Web page design and management"
SAIT I am a bit dissapointed by their mention that they use windoze based computers. That is the trouble I had with my last web site builder. He had not evovled enough to do it right for MACs. Does anyone know if this is a good course or if there are other ones avail? I want to be able to bring my iBook in and use it to work on the site.

If they actually teach you HTML, it doesn't matter what OS you are using.

However, personally I found that a library card and a trip to my local branch here in Calgary was very helpful. I learnt all about CSS and XHTML by just reading a book and trying out the examples.

I started learning on my own, but I have also taken courses online offered by the HTML Writers Guild. It is led by an instructor who provides weekly assignments. It is forum based so you can go in whenever is the best time for you. Each course typically lasts about 6 weeks. I have taken the courses using my Mac.

HTML is not rocket science. If you could get a friend that knows how to give you a little tutorial - an hour or two - that will build confidence. The rest can be learned out of the book.
