I wish I could be there.

But way more than that, I wish Triumph the Insult Comic Dog could be there.

From the CBC link above, one comment had a youtube (link .

An interesting short documentary, albeit a bit alarmist at the end. I'm just wondering, who was the speaker (the one with a laptop in front of him, at a conference) who gave the historical background, starting from the press and moving on to radio?

It brought flashback of a graduate mass comm seminar at Carleton... (w/ Dwayne Winseck, FYI)

A good video that makes it fairly simple for those unfamiliar with the issue.

Triumph rules - and is banned in Canada to boot!

I don't know how many protesters they will get, but it should be a real geekfest.

The "IT Nerd" did everybody a favor by rounding up some links:

Net Neturality Protest Hits Ottawa….. « The IT Nerd

Note the one about the NDP bringing forth a private members bill. Perhaps there's hope?

If I lived anywhere near, I would be there. Good luck to all who attend.

I really liked the little film. All of us should watch it.

Can you see the day when Bell working with, oh, lets say Microsoft, blocks access to this site. It could happen.

Perhaps. Bell's truck will be late, and the service too expensive for the cheapskates at the Evil Empire. Once Bell showed up, the dude would climb a pole and say their is nothing wrong, that he has to go to some indeterminate location to spend a few hours fooling with the corporate laptop.

M$ would put the event into their corporate Outlook - but because of a flaw in their programming, they will show up an hour late because they didn't have a good solution to the DST change. That is, if their network isn't taken down in the middle of the night by the same crackers that are going to protest.

Rogers would shop up - but they will be delayed because it will take all morning for the hospital to pump the booze out of old man Roger's stomach.

And if it got violent, the geeks would threaten the cops with: "I've got a plastic pocket protector - and I'm not afraid to use it!"

Excellent! I just wish some more people would get on the band wagon here and add the Neutrality banner to their signatures. It takes so little and the more we can spread the word of the significance within our own community all the better. You know the old shampoo commercial; You tell two friends, and they tell two friends...
