I saw it too

Since we have had false rumours so many times, the proof of this pudding this time might be further corroboration in the other press outlets. No sign of anything in the main papers on line yet. The key phrase was "by the end of the year". That sure is not very definite. Since it was Ted who apparently announced it this morning at a company meeting, it's more than likely a done deal. He is a smart businessman, though. I don't think he would let this cat out of the bag without imminent plans since this news would stall many other sales.

Rogers Issues Statement on the Apple iPhone

TORONTO, April 29 /CNW/ - Ted Rogers, President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Rogers Communications Inc. today issued the following statement: We're thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring theiPhone to Canada later this year. We can't tell you any more about it rightnow, but stay tuned.
not many details - but with a new sales campaign planned on starting within the next two weeks, i expect "later this year" to coincide with the June 3G iphone release.

Unless Ted was on live, in person to announce this (and someone has a clip they can post). I'll continue my day as if this wasn't even mentioned.

I'll just wait for the posters to go up at the Apple store.

Z.

[edit] ok, so I might have been a bit hasty
