Classic for Games-just a thought

well, I guess one advantage of having my mom's G4 with 10.3.9 is that maybe I can enjoy a few classic games. I know that Apple had to drop OS 9, 'cuz you have to move on, painful tho' it might be... Rosetta, I find, doesn't work that well for games. Anyone have something good to say about sheepshaver? I don't know, which is why I'm asking...I have a sneaking suspicion that if His Jobs-ship were to say "Okay, Classic Mac gamers, if you wanna play your old games on your new machine, with modern graphics features, well, it'll cost you, oh $60 or $100, maybe someone might go for it??

just a thought

sheepshaver is okay for non graphic games and does not run all programs. Although I did install unreal and did my mods with sheepshaver than with the mods I could play it in OSX on intel. Classic games need a classic mac...

Sheepshaver works for Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 on a Macbook Pro 2.4GHz. Top stuff.

I use SheepShaver, but I don't run anything demanding on it. I kissed OS 9 goodbye a long time ago and don't enjoy dropping back into it, but dammit my all-time favourite Yahtzee clone only runs on it. I even contacted the programmer and begged him to port it.

No dice, so to speak.
