ichat

My ichat opens and I appear as available. My friend who is also on Mac comes on line and he appears as available on my ichat window. however, when we try to have a video chat, we can't always connect - in fact have only been able to chat once. Usually it says i didn't respond if he rings me when I in fact do click Accept. Is there a setting somewhere I have to tweak in order to chat that I don't know about?

Thanks

Wayne

I'm not sure which ports you need to open on your routers. Do some Googling for ichat port settings and you should find the ones you need. Then you need to go into your router admin and open those ports. It doesn't let others into your network, just allows ichat traffic to come in and go out properly.

As Macified points it, if you and/or your friend are behind a router, make sure you open the ports described in the following article:
Using iChat with a firewall or NAT router

This usually solves this kind of issues.
