Leopard Q's:

Hi,

So what is i) Spaces ?

& what's the best way to use ii) Stacks ?

Basically, I need to get up on how to use these Leopard "improvements" .... since I haven't grasped them they haven't really been that useful for me yet.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

davidslegend

Spaces is essentially a great way to compartmentalize your workspace. Try having internet apps in one space, photo stuff in another, i tunes in another..etc... if you find you have a problem of having so many windows open at once you have to minimize them, spaces will help you.

Stacks is another organizational tool.. its to the right of the applications section of the dock and it basically provides a shortcut to places you might need to access asap. like the documents and downloads folder.. I have applications on there, and my school folder (because opening finder and navigating them takes too much time, its easier to put those folders in stacks.)

hope that helps..

on apple.com/mac they have awesome video tutorials and lots of stuff about new features in leopard

I love Stacks. I didn't use it for a month or so after upgrading but now I dig it. What I did was create a bunch of folders, each representing a group based on my workflow. So, Business, Graphics, Web, etc. In each of these folders I put an alias for common applications I use in that group and then dragged the folder into my dock.

Attached is a grab of my "Business" Stack, for illustrative purposes.
