Montréal Mac Store - should be very interesting and fund

Later this year, Montréal will see the opening of the first "full size" Apple Store. The store in Montréal will be located on Ste-Cathérine just next to Ogilvy's. The store will be on two levels - similar to stores in major centres in Europe and the US. This is is a first for Canada

We do not know yet when the store will have its official opening (rumours are late Spring or early Summer).

Could be a neat event for the ehmac community in and around the Montréal area.

Wanted to start a thread so that we can see what we want to do.

Please post your thoughts and ideas.

Hmm intereseting find PierreB

I think I know which building you are talking about, not far from Ogilvy they have been doing big construction and they even put a temporary wood structure painted all in black that block part of the sidewalk.

Hmm this need further investigation, ill snap some pics this week-end (I am following a Photoshop class at Concordia university and I pass infront of this place ;-)).

I guess that probably why they put this black structure so we dont really see what they are doing inside to keep it secret.

Good thread. I completely forgot about the new store. I think it will be where the "Mens" store was. Glass front over 2 levels. Plus it's a good shopping area near Crescent. Would be good to get it open before the Grand Prix. Then again, I wouldn't want it open before the Stanley Cup win

Gmark, there is macquebec.com which is a French site. And I remember seeing a Final Cut User Group site in French somewhere.

a little off topic... does anyone know what's happening with microserv?
it's out of my way to swing by the store, but i do check the website and it seems to be only an "IT solutions" place now. is the public store gone?

Wow, is that ever ugly, and massive.

If you touch the side, do you get a flash of brilliant thought, i.e. 2001-ASO???

My kingdom for an Apple store on either Vancouver Island, or in Vancouver!

It's really annoying, seeing as there's not a lot of places over here on the Island to buy apple stuff, except for ipods.

As noted in the story, the picture shows the construction screen and not the actual building front. I assume that the actual storefront will be in line with adjacent buildings once finished.

Microserv's Dorval store was open and looked to be operating normally a couple of weeks ago when I bought my new keyboard there. The vast bulk of the store's items are Mac or third party Mac items. There are some Windows related items but not that many. I have no idea whether or not they still have their Laval store.
