Someone is selling a 12" iBook G3 500MHZ, 10GB, 192RAM, CD ROM and I am wondering if I should purchase it with a problem it has. He says that there is a 1" x 1" area on the LCD that is brighter then the rest of the screen, is this the LCD or possibly the video on the motherboard?

wow... $400?? that might be worth something to look @. Depending on what you need to seriously do, I think that might be a steal. How is the batt life?? also, run that 2nd monitor as someone mentioned. But, to do some simple surfing and maybe some word pro?? nice. ;)

H!

I just bought it for $368.00 shipping included, we'll see how it is. Here is what I am getting and the problems.

-iBook G3 500MHZ
-10GB
-198RAM
-CD ROM
-battery that lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes
-Adapter

Problems *nothing serious*
-the backspace key is missing but still works
-there is an area on the LCD that is a little brighter then the rest.

That's it, I think I got it for an excellent price.

 What a deal!

That's awesome!! And, if the display problem is the system itself and not the LCD, it should be covered under Apple's iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program. Congrats on a great purchase!
