Refurbished Airport Extreme Base with Gigabit 802.11N

Im thinking of buying this router from the Apple site, it goes for 149.99. Has anyone ever purchased this item from apple? Not sure if quality is good, any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I bought a refurbished unit from the Apple site 2 or 3 months ago. The AE unit performs flawlessly since I got it.

Thank you for the reply. I will be connecting my macbook pro and a yucky windows pc (PIII) machine, I'm guessing I need to get a wireless card for my pc so it'll connect to the airport, any brand that is good and is recommended that will work well with the Airport? Is there anything else I need to purchase aside from the wireless pc card? Thank u.

i can vouch for SIG too. I bought and received it within 2 business days. fantastic price..brand new unit. I was going to buy the refurb until someone told me about SIG.

i'm buying applecare for my mac pro from them too...way cheaper than anywhere else i've seen!

cheers,
Keebler

if your pc is close enough to the aebs, just use a regular ethernet cable. the aebs has 3 or 4 ports on the back.

Linksys seems to be a pretty reputable/expensive brand for this stuff? As far as I've read/heard - After AEBS, a Linksys router is the next best in terms of reliability.

I can only assume their PC Cards/USB Wireless dongles are of the same quality?

I just finished setting up the same unit bought from SIG; it replaced a D-Link which may have been the cause of my continually dropped connections lately. First impression is that It's noticeably faster, both wireless and with my wired towers. It was a great deal along with the DotMac membership for $59.
