Pro VS iMac

I know that I said that I was going to get the imac in a older post. But I lied, or at least I think. The apple refurb store had refurb 2GHz mac pros for only about $100 more than the 24 inch imac new. Would it be smart to pick up one of these computers. Or when apple releases a new pro will the refurbs fall in price to and by how much? do you think that the new pro will be released before Xmas? I have a buyer for my old computer so I need to make up my mined quick. How long will the mac pro last me compared to the imac? Is it worth the extra 100 and needing to buy a monitor. And for monitors is the older apple ADC monitors the ones that every one thinks look dumb, is that a good monitor? I love that look.

It's unlikely new Mac Pros are coming before Christmas. It's far more like new Mac Pros are coming sometime in January.

If you're looking at an iMac, a Mac Pro is likely more than you need, so it should last longer than if you buy an iMac. If you're on a budget, I wouldn't buy the display from Apple, there are other less expensive monitors that are just as good as Apple's.
