I want to get a cheap microphone for my G5. Would not be used much except the odd time talking to a few people over seas. I dont want to spend alot of money, as cheap as possible I guess. I was looking on bestbuy.com and saw this one:

I don't know which G5 you've got, but my iMac G5 doesn't have a microphone level input, only line level. So, I'd go for the USB mic. Otherwise you may need a preamplifier to boost the mic signal to line level, which adds cost and clutter.

I think I will go with the second one I listed. It says its mac compatible, has a usb connection. I dont want to fight to make it work or anything. And in the end its still very cheap.

Yep USB mic is the way to go without a doubt. Cheapo mic-level output only microphones won't work.
I use one like this on my G5 and it's very happy: (actually I have the cheaper one with only one earpice, but I don't see them listed at bestbuy - it was about $10 cheaper than the one in the link below)
Yes, as mentioned either go for a USB microphone or you will have to get a Griffin iMic to plug the mic in. Most Macs (Power Mac G5 included) have a line level analog audio input. To use a mic in a line level input, the signal must be amplified.
What is a line level input good for? It works great for hooking up a TV Audio output or a Stereo audio output and recording (both of these are amplified signals).
