White 17" Intel iMac 2.16 problems with Leopard
Hi,
I bought 2-3 weeks ago a refurbish iMac 17" Intel 1Gig of RAM for my girlfriend. It came with Tiger, and I installed her Leopard yesterday. I have already installed Leopard on my PB 12" 1.33 1.25Gig RAM and my refurbish iMac 24" 2.16 2 Gig of RAM.
Installation goes well on all 3 machines, but the 17" is somehow becoming sluggish/unresponsive after a while. The mouse is responding "by hop", while the CD-ROM is very, I mean very, slow. I did a clean install (not an upgrade) on the 3 machines. For backup purposes and security, I used an external HD with SuperDuper to make a booting copy of Tiger. If I boot the 17" on Tiger on the external HD, all looks to work just as before.
I suspect a driver problem with the iMac 17" or something similar, but so far, I found no reference of a similar problem elsewhere from anyone else. I suspected the keyboard (BT), because putting it off/on helped a bit sometimes, but I no longer sure that is it. Especially if the CD-ROM works fine in Tiger, and very slow in Leopard, I suspect now something more complex. It also work just fine on Windows with BootCamp. Mouse is wired.
Any idea what could be wrong? How can I investigate this? repair this?
Thanks
