Carbon Computing in Ottawa will be open on Friday at 6PM to sell Leopard. We will have Single User and Family Pack in stock, but I cannot confirm whether or not we'll have Server. Space is limited in the store as the 'full' retail store will not be open, but we should have plenty of copies to sell. Thanks.

Hmmm ... okay, now I'm curious ... what is the difference between the Single User and Family User when it comes to "what you get".
I assumed that with either purcahse, you get ONE DVD. The Single User provides a single license, and the Family provides up to five licenses.
But do they come in different boxes or something?

You peaked my curiousity when you said you'd have both in stock.

Oh, and I'll be there Friday night!

Regarding additional items for sale on Friday night, there will be a small selection (due to space) of Apple hardware: iPod touch, iMac 20" and 24", MacBook and Cinema Displays.

Leopard and Leopard Family Pack are different SKU's (they come in different boxes) and although their contents are 'essentially' the same, they are intenteded for different customers.

Here is the description of the Family Pack:
* The Family Pack Software License Agreement allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that household. By “household” we mean a person or persons who share the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home, or condominium, including student members who are primary residents of that household but reside at a separate on-campus location. This license does not extend to business or commercial users.

I decided I am not going to upgrade right away, as I am in the middle of midterms, essays and have a lot on my plate right now. I know If I upgrade i'll procrastinate and play with Leopard all day instead of getting my work done!

That said, I plan on upgrading as soon as the holidays hit. Do you expect to have plenty of copies in December and such, or do you think availability will be limited?

I'd much rather purchase from you guys then the big box electronics stores.

I'm pleased to hear that you'll be supporting us. We should have no troubles with product availability between now and the new year. If you need something with advance notice, just give us a call or drop us an email and we'll make sure to have what you need. Thanks.
