September ByMUG Meeting information (Ottawa)

The September meeting will be held on Sunday, September 9th (the second Sunday of the month, rather than the first Sunday), at 1:00 PM, at Patty Bolands Pub (101 Clarence Street).

In this meeting, Tobias Lütke of Shopify.com will be doing a demo of Textmate to show just how powerful of a text editor Textmate is.

Jonathan will be demonstrating Picturesque, a simple piece of software to add effects to your photos. The creators of Picturesque, Acqualia Software have graciously offered a 25% discount to all ByMUG members, and provided a free copy of Picturesque to a lucky meeting attendee.

As usual, in MacBreak style, we get each member to offer a Mac-related tip, a software or website suggestion, or just something neat they have noticed. Participation is not required, but encouraged, because it is just fun to see what everyone is learning. And of course, then there are the questions. ;-)

Bump - TextMate is probably off the table, but we're definitely doing Picturesque and the rest of it. Plus, we've got plenty to talk about with new iPods. And a few of you have unlocked iPhones in Ottawa! Bring 'em over.

Meeting went well. Picturesque is a neat program, and one of the meeting attendees won a free copy, thanks to the developer.

We also had an impromptu iWork demo after the Textmate demo had to be cancelled.

Next month there will be more give-aways, and some cool demos. I'll post it once I have everything nailed down.
