SD card reader issue

I have an SD card that I use to move things back and forth from my Mac to different Windoze boxes. The card was formatted by my Canon camera and I leave it that way as I can read or write to it from any machine.

Problem: If I drop a file onto it from OSX Panther the creation date is lost. OSX sees it as the default date, Windows sees it as the date it was transferred and alters the modified date to match the later created date. If I use OS9 dates are properly preserved.

Questions; Did Tiger resolve this issue? Do the MacIntel boxes share this problem? Will Leopard do the trick?
