Yes, the RadioShark looks pretty cool. Kinda like audio TiVo. I wouldn't rush to PRE-order one, though. It has been vapor[hard]ware for a long time now. Then again, when they announced pre-orders in July 2003 it was $20US cheaper, so maybe the trick is to order before they realize it should sell for even more!
Still, I'm keeping my eye on this thing--I really hope they ship it someday soon.

Unfortunately, Griffin makes a habit of waiting for substantial pre-orders before producing many of their products. I heard a rumour the RadioShark was on extended hold and possibly being dropped altogether.
I just spoke with a Griffin sales rep this morining. He was very emphatic that the RadioShark does exist and is finally going to hit the streets in April. He admitted that they drastically underestimated how long it would take to go from prototype to mass production.
I'm psyched!

I prefer to use the SW approach and just run Audio Hijack. I like the standard version better than the Pro version (although it doesn't record directly to mp3).
The version that I use will run a script that will import it directly into iTunes as an mp3. I changed the script slightly so that it deletes the large AIFF file after it's imported.

Yes, Audio Hijack is an awesome program, great reviews. I'm probably going to pick that one up as well. It is like a programable audio "can opener." However, until RadioShark actually comes out and gets reviewed I'll reserve judgment as to which I prefer.
Reports are that RadioShark is like TiVo for radio. If you've never experienced TiVo, I can understand how you might see AH as another approach to the same problem, but it isn't. You would need to script AH far beyond what it is currently capable of and have it act as a radio tuner (i.e. capable of changing stations on an external tuner) outside of just internet streams. A determined tech savvy person might be able to pull that off. I'm hoping RadioShark will take care of all that for me, though. If not, Audio Hijack + Applescript here I come!

There are several apps out there that do this. There was even one for Mac OS Classic back in the old days
