Plasma Pong gets OS X Port!!!

One of my favorite games has now hit OS X!

http://www.plasmapong.com/index.html

"OS X port for Plasma Pong is finally finished! I've included both the x86 version and the PowerPC version. Since this is a new release, please post any problems you may experience in the new section of the forums and I'll do my best to get it fixed"

Wow.

Make sure you play in the sandbox for a while too.

Very cool game!

There is a problem I encountered when playing on a dual monitor system. If you happen to move your cursor out of the gameplay area and into the second monitor, the game pauses until you find the darned thing and return to the gameplay area. Then WHOMP you're thrust back into it. Kind of hard to account for. Putting the displays into mirror mode helps a bit, but there are still dead areas of black on the either of the screens if their resolutions are unable to be matched (widescreen versus standard ratio displays) and the gameplay still freezes. They need an option to disable a second monitor.

I've sent an email in to the author.

I heard about this game awhile ago but never tried it because it was Windows only. Very cool game.

When I first tried it I found the game was very slow paced. My fps was about 20 and everything seemed to be running smoothly so I just figured it was a really slow paced game (I could not get past level one, the ball was just moving too slowly back and forth). I checked out the forums today and noticed someone said the game is unplayable under 30fps. After dropping all the detail to maximize performance I'm now running ~33fps. At this speed this game is awesome and fast paced.

Make sure you're running at at least 30fps!!!

Runs poorly on my PowerBook 1.67.

But it is pretty cool. The physics are amazing.

It's running fine on my 15" PowerBook 1.67, 1gig of Ram, all settings under performance set to the lowest. (still looks good)
