For cost-savings, I think I'll make my very first Mac a mini.

Got a good quality 19" CRT I can use on it until I can afford a spiffy new widescreen LCD as well. (22" Dell for a lousy $300 is tempting!)

Any speculation as to the differences we may see on the new mini?

One I've heard is the update from GMA950 to X3000 (which is a VERY minimal improvement in the PC world, hopefully Apple does a better job with the hardware drivers!)

Even as a satisfied mini owner, I must say that the most recent model is not a very good value. I'd love to replace the rev.1 mini sitting atop my ministack external with a newer version, but they'd have to up the specs and lower the price before I would consider it.

As for speculation, the obvious move would be to upgrade to a C2D processor. Why they haven't done so yet is beyond me.
