The new software lets you update any Garmin GPS unit from your Mac. I have a Street Pilot i5, the base model, for my car and motor home and it worked great today. I used to have to boot Windows on my MBP to do this. The Mac software is easier and quicker to use than windows as well, but I guess that is no surprise.

This is a a piece of Mac software that downloads firmware updates directly from the Garmin home site. When you run it, it checks your Garmin device and decides what software updates you need and installs them. Much like the Mac Software Update.
