Recommend a shoppe that might sell antique mac odds & ends?

Hi -

I'm looking for a place/person *within Canada* that might sell older Mac stuff. At the moment I'm trying to find a working, old-stylee yoyo adapter and maybe an equivalent battery for a clamshell (ummm).

Later on, I'll be looking for other old portables + parts.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There is a place in Toronto that re-cells clamshell iBook batteries. It's been discussed in this forum before.

I found a guy who re-cells PB/iPod batteries (toronto)

I think there is another place that re-cells iPod batteries while you wait or by mail order, also in Toronto.

As for the older portables + parts question, check my signature, as I'm usually either buying or selling same....

Not sure why you would want a used battery unless some warranty was offered which is unlikely. I got a long-life battery for my key lime toilet seat from OWC and am VERY pleased.

If you're talking about the battery re-celling given above, it's really not a used battery. The person is replacing the chargable batteries in the battery pack. The battery packs in laptops are, I believe, actually made up of batteries or cells and some electronics. If you replace the cells, properly, the battery is like new.

It's also in Toronto, which means you don't have to deal with customs and brokerage fees.

Thanks for your responses.

BTW, this is not unusual:

I'll check out battery refurb vs. replace as soon as I can plug the thing in.
I have no leads on that front as yet.

Hey rubeole,

Remember that place behind the Hall building I told you about? They most likely will have something like that.

The bike shop it's in is called Right to Bike or something like that. Seriously check it out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
