Per print costs are great on colour lasers, but the fact that you need to drop $200+ for toner replacements is hard to swallow. Sure they last forever, but OUCH!
Thankfully I don't need colour printing. B&W Laser at home, and Shoppers Drug Mart for colour photo prints.

I've had my HP 2605 for over 6 months now, only 1/4 of the way through the cartridges, and that was after a run of 1200 pages of brochures (colour) for a trade show. At this rate, I might not need to buy cartridges this year.
Is this a good deal? Seems to be. Also, does anyone have any comments on the Konica Minolta brand?
Thanks!
Make sure you have a source for the replacement cartridges. I remember hearing that they weren't available from a Staples or Future Shop store, only online. Not good if you run out on a Friday afternoon and the big report is due on Monday.
Incredible price for this printer. As for it being slow... hardly! 21ppm - that's pretty good as far as consumer (non-pro) colour printers go.
Tested by PCWorld at a real-world output of 3 (three) PPM - in black and white (!) vs. 13 PPM on the same test with competitive units. Colour pages 2.4 PPM
If you believe manufacturer's speed ratings, I have a bridge I'd like to talk to you about.
