I really miss the system sounds in OSX, i think this is the major flaw of OSX.
i refuse to pay $10 for Xounds, its against my principle.
anyone here can give me the reg code/password. i will be so eternally grateful.

It's $10 bucks for the love of Pete—just pay for it and be done with it. We don't condone piracy on this board, so I would suggest you atone before you're beaten with Strongblade's Rubber Fish™.
BTW, do you use the same principle in your everyday life? Tsk, tsk.
Rollee... please use other places to ask for this sort of thing. It's no different than asking for a cracked copy of Photoshop. (And to the small software author hurts a heck of a lot more.)
i refuse to pay cause i think this is a flaw in the near perfect OS, and i know many many people will agree with me.
i do not mean to offend anyone, and i think people over-reacting have taken me wrong.
i shall live in the silence of OSX rather than paying $10 for something i have enjoyed so much in OS9.
bottom line, i cannot afford the $10.

i am here to raise an argument.
originally i thought someone will come up with an idea to an alternative, for example [sic]...
Right Rolee... you blatantly said in your message:

Nice principles. I think the author of Xounds would be eternally grateful if people didn't openly ask for passwords to illegally steal his or her software.

Hate to point out the obvious flaw in your argument here, but what does a missing feature in Apple's OS have to do with screwing some poor shareware programmer out of his paycheque???
I mean, I could at least follow your logic if *Apple* was selling this as an OSX add on, and you felt gypped becasue they had it there under OS9, and now want extra $$ for it under OSX. (It still wouldn't condone the software piracey, but you'd at least have a decent argument going for you.)
$10 may seem like a lot to you, but I guarantee it's worth more to him, considering the time and effort he's put into the app.
i am here to raise an argument.
originally i thought someone will come up with an idea to an alternative, for example like:
starting a poll to apple voicing our (mac users) opinions, perhaps we will see it in 10.3.3.
or
posting a link to a freeware substitute (maybe there's a sounds freeware somewhere in this vast universe)
or
teaching me how to write a script to create my own sounds (if thats the case every macuser will get it for free)
or
like guys who suggest, there's no way out of this one, you gotta pay man-i accept and will go with silence is golden OSX.
or
somebody out there really will send me a code and say 'pass this along' i absolutely agree with you.
etc etc etc.
this has nothing to do with ripping off some programmer's paycheck, i strongly feel this 'bells and whistles' feauture makes the mac so much more unique, i agree my wording should not be 'flawed' but 'can be more perfected' instead. if this programme is donate at will (shareware) as oppose to US$10, then after i tried and really got hooked, something like adding pink panther to opening a file or indiana jones theme to strolling through menus then i have no problems in sending him $20 or even more.
my point is he's only adding the 'ding dings and click clicks' back to what should have been there, i mean by cannot affording $10, because its not worth $10.
on another assumption, what if i don't like it and delete this app in 5 mins do i get a refund? there's no mention.
or if it causes my beloved panther to crash sporadically? afterall it is not an 'apple' label. in purchasing technically an unknown without warranty or a refund policy, how much do you consider is an amount insignificant enough to say 'i can throw this away and not think about it at all'? the poor programmer needs my money although i just got screwed royally.
please advice.

As said, on ehMac piracy is not looked upon with any favour whatsoever.
If you want to complain about how Apple cut out sounds in OS X, that is fine, but not looking to rip off people who make the feature available to you, and only ask a nominal fee.
