I notice that both the RAM discount and the $25 discount are valid until March 27. I wonder if this is significant? probably just to do with a financial quarter, but on the other hand Jobs promised a big year of announcements....

Yeah, March 27th is an interesting date. In Australia they have a deal in which you hand in a G4 and you get $1000 AU off the price of a new G5. Deal ends March 27th.

In the US many of the large chains are offering $200 rebates on all G5's. Guess when the deal ends?

You got it. March 27th.

Just a guess, but most of the Apple discount coupons have an expiry date. This one is set to expire one month after the anniversary of the Canada AppleStore's startup, Feb27.

My date stamp on mine says it arrived just before 8PM MST Feb26 which just happens to be about 2AM GMT Feb27th.

March 27th - isn't that the day apple is announcing the all new Powermac G6 MP 128-bit Personal Computer and OS-Y with the new Au interface? With a nod to street styling - the chasis of the G6 will be electroplated in 24 carat gold and the audio card will come standard with dual phono preamps. The "Beast", as it will be known, will be available with single, dual or quadruple 6Ghz cpus, upto 6GB of Ram and 6TB of storage - and, yes, it will fight the forces of good for control of the Kingdom of Earth and all human souls therein.

So yah - better mark March 27th in your calendar.

Bah. Only 6GB of RAM? I guess they ran out of rooms for slots with the diamond-studded heatsink.
