Anyone Have Airplane Seat Power Adapter Knowledge?

After failed calls to United Airlines, I am still wondering if the Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter will work on plane CRJ 700. Anyone know if it will work? It connects to in-seat EmPower and 20mm power ports. Does the CRJ 700 have one of those?

I've found this website to be invaluable for plane information.

http://www.seatguru.com/

Turns out that United Airlines has 3 configurations of the CRJ 700, and from the looks of it, none of them sport power plugs.

not to be obtuse, but if you're flying a leg on a CRJ why do you *need* a power adapter? I don't think I've ever flown on a CRJ longer than 3 hours.

Airline Seating Charts - Best Airplane Seats - SeatGuru
Great website, I always use this site in booking my trips to insure getting a good seat. One tip for people that I have is to check the seat maps at check in to see if any better seats have been released for the general passengers, most of the time I reassign myself to a better seat at this time when I travel.
As for the power adapters I hear a lot of not so good stuff such as many airlines don't provide in seat power on domestic flights even though the aircraft may be equipped. There are also many flights that the flight attendant dose not know how to turn on the in flight power even though it is suppose to be offered on that flight. They also may be a 70W power limit per seat which may cause difficulty if you are using a 15 or 17 inch MBP.

Good site! I wasn't even aware of those EmPower ports. I usually fly domestically cross-country for work, and all the larger Air Canada planes have 120VAC on the seats, which makes it super easy to connect anything. I'm flying United to Hawaii in the winter, and it looks like we'll be SOL for power on all legs, even on a 777.

Maybe Air Canada doesn't suck as much as we like to think it does...

Yeah - it sucks less. Air Canada seats also have USB ports to charge your iPod/iPhone.

I fly often, and find even with short flights, it is nice to keep your devices all juiced up.

It makes stop overs more convenient, and upon arrival at destination, as you know you have plenty of battery remaining and no hassle finding power sources.

But with the new MacBook Pros & 8 hr batteries, it almost makes chargers for continental flights redundant.

I fly WestJet and I can't remember seeing them.

I may actually switch to AC if the Calgary-To route gets empowered.

Air Canada currently has Embraer E-190s and Airbus A319s, 320s and 321s flying the Calgary-Toronto route, all of which have AC power outlets on them. The Dash-8s and CRJs flying some of the connecting routes don't have power, however.
